On Wednesday, April 10 th, 2024, The Ummah Welfare Trust organized a Quranic competition among twelve talented Quranic kids hailing from six mosques in Pujehun Township. Notable mosques, including Pujehun Town Central Mosque, Fullah Town Mosque, Hill Station Mosque, and Fanadopo Quranic Mosque, participated in the event, marking the culmination of Ramadan.

Mr. Thomas Williams Abu, one of the organizers, highlighted the competition's aim to deepen the participants' Quranic knowledge and foster community unity, especially among the youth, as a means to deter drug abuse. The rigorous selection process ensured the best representatives from six mosques vied for top honors.

Under the stewardship of Chief Judge Alhaji Sheik Mohamed Bashir Jalloh, participants were assessed on Quranic recitation, Arabic proficiency, and general knowledge.

Musa Jalloh clinched victory, showcasing exceptional talent alongside other finalists like Isatou Shour and Hawa Massaquoi among others.

The event's success underscored the importance of community engagement and religious education in nurturing future leaders, prompting calls for its continuation in the district. With families and mosque members cheering on, the competition epitomized a celebration of faith, knowledge, and unity.
