To enhance the skills and techniques of volleyball coaches and players, Sorie Kamara, the Technical Director of the Volleyball Federation of Sierra Leone, on Saturday, 10 February 2024, ended an intensive training session held at the Sam Abu primary School Komala Road in Pujehun.
The training aimed to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of various fundamental skills required in the sport, including serving, ball control, and other essential techniques.
During the training program, Kamara emphasized the importance of mastering these skills to excel in volleyball. Participants were introduced to the most recent sporting techniques and were provided with practical demonstrations to enhance their understanding.
Kamara's expertise and experience as both the Technical Director for Sierra Leone's volleyball federation and the Technical Director for Zone 2 beach volleyball undoubtedly contributed to the effectiveness of the training.
Among the attendees was Madam Aminata Kanu, a passionate participant who expressed her gratitude for the timely opportunity to enhance her knowledge and skills in volleyball.
She described the training as a "blessing in disguise" and said she had long yearned for such an opportunity. Although the training lasted just a day, Kanu expressed her satisfaction with the knowledge she gained from the program.
Furthermore, Kanu assured the trainer that the material provided during the training would be utilized for its intended purpose. Her enthusiasm and determination to apply the newly acquired knowledge reflected the overall positive impact of the training session.
The intensive training conducted by Sorie Kamara was a significant step towards promoting volleyball's development in Sierra Leone, by equipping coaches and players with the latest techniques and skills, the training aimed to enhance the overall quality of the sport within the country.
