TAMBA FODAY NGONGOU DONATES FOOTBALLS TO KDFA

In a bid to support the fourth coming Chiefdom football competition headed by the Kono District Football Association (KDFA),  Tamba Foday Ngongou, through the Kono District Football Association, has donated 14 Footballs ahead of the kickstart of the Chiefdom Football competition. The handing over ceremony of the football donation was done at the KDFA Secretariat in Koidu City over the weekend. It was witnessed by the Tamba Foday Ngongou and Team, Chairman KDFA executives, Councilors, representatives of the Chiefdom team manager, and the media.

Giving the rationale behind the donation, Tamba Foday Ngongou disclosed that the footballs were among the significant challenges requested from the Chiefdom teams through the Kono District Football Association (KDFA).

" This initiative is to enhance the Development of the young talented boys, improve the game spirit, and foster soccer discipline in the district. I will continue to do more to work with the district Chairman, KDFA," he said.

He said he maintained that his team would work closely with the leadership of KDFA to ensure the success of the fourth coming Chiefdom Football competition in Kono District. He said it had been long since the Chiefdom competition was not playing, and football was one of their challenges.

" I will do my best to support the District Football Association (KDFA) leadership for the good of Football in the district, as soccer is the only game that brings people together from all walks of life," he said.

He applauded the leadership of KDFA for ensuring the spirit of the football game was revamped in the district and for their tremendous efforts to rebuild Football discipline in the district.

Receiving the Footballs, the Chairman of the Kono District Football Association (KDFA), Abu Bakar Mansaray, expressed his profound gratitude to the donor, Tamba Foday Ngongou, for such a humanitarian gesture to support the long-term problem that had hindered the growth of Football in the Chiefdoms in Kono District.

He affirmed that they received 14 Footballs from Tamba Foday Ngongou worth a million leones and of durable standards.

" I am delighted because this is one of the challenges I faced when I took office as Chairman. And I am sure the team will address the challenges," he said.

He disclosed that the District Football competition has been dead for quite a while, and they are doing their best to ensure its restructuring, which will have a positive impact on the district.

He pointed out that the District Football competition will be kicked off on the 18th of February 2024.

Underscoring the merits of the Kono District Chiefdoms competition, it will serve to scout out talented players for the District Team (Diamond Stars) to foster unity and love in the district.

" Since I took office last year, Tamba Foday Ngongou and Babadi Kamara have invested a lot to see the growth of football in Kono District," he said.

Chairman Abu Mansaray further disclosed that footballs will be equally portioned to the 14 chiefdoms to ensure the competition’s success.

He said that the chiefdom managers forwarded them information about the lack of footballs, and upon receiving this, he immediately contacted Tamba Foday Ngongou to aid him in addressing the burning issue.

Chairman Kono District Football Association (KDFA) Abu Bakar Mansaray praised Tamba Foday Ngongou for his timely Intervention and for ensuring the proper utilization of the donations.

He urged beneficiaries to use the donation as a valuable resource to ensure its efficient use and maximum impact on the football clubs.

The Councilors and the beneficiary Chiefdom club managers thanked Tamba Foday Ngongou for his humanitarian gesture and vowed to utilize the balls for its goals.
