The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) on Wednesday, the 10th of January,2024, received additional containers filled with imported working materials at Kingtom, Freetown, for the ongoing artificial turf construction project. This move is undeniably a significant stride towards enhancing football infrastructure in Sierra Leone.

The SLFA Artificial Turf construction project, backed by FIFA, is rapidly advancing. The association is diligently working on constructing five state-of-the-art playing facilities simultaneously across Sierra Leone, including the SLFA Academy, Approved School Field, Port Loko Field, and Bo Coronation Field. This strategic initiative addresses the longstanding issue of inadequate infrastructure in the country’s football landscape.

With the continuous influx of imported materials, the project is gaining momentum, ensuring the timely completion of these crucial football facilities. The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) is optimistic that all the facilities will be meticulously finished and ready for action by the end of the first quarter 2024.

This ambitious undertaking not only underscores the commitment of the SLFA and FIFA to developing football infrastructure but also promises to provide players and enthusiasts with top-notch facilities to elevate the sport’s standard across Sierra Leone. The football community eagerly anticipates these advancements’ positive impact on the nation’s football landscape.
