REGIONAL PRESIDENT FOR ATHLETICS ASSOCIATION ENDS WORKING VISIT IN KONO

The Regional President Eastern Region Athletics Association Madam Hannah J. Jacob and their team, have ended a working visit in Kono District.

 In an exclusive interview with AimNet Newspaper, the president of Eastern Regional Athletics Association Madam  Hannah J. Jacob said their visit was to have first-hand information about current constraints the district athletics association is faced with and provide possible solutions to address them for the progress of the association.

" The athletics discipline has died over the years in the district and the country and they are the current Chairman and executives of the athletics association. We are trying our utmost best to rebrand the athletics discipline across the country" she said.

 She maintained that during their visit,  they were able to spot good talented athletes and they shall be participating at the regional headquarters in east Kenema District. She intimated that would be having their trials to represent at the National athletics competition which would take place on the 26th of December 2023.

" You know since time in memory the Athletic Association used to have a nationwide athletics competition on Boxing Day 26th December every year "

She pointed out that among some of the challenges,  they discovered that disunity among the athletics family and also lack of coaches for the athletics discipline are the challenges the discipline faced in Kono.

 The Regional President Eastern Regional Athletics Association Madam Hannah J. Jacob,  assured that if Kono District had more than three athletics that would be one of the best in the country.

" The district has good athletics and can easily elevate the to Higher level in term of athletics discipline if they have the financial and material support", she disclosed.  She called on the people of Kono District to give premium to the athletics discipline.
