PAVIFORT ACCELERATES KENEMA TOWNSHIP ROAD CONSTRUCTION

BY: ABDUL MARTINS FODAY AMARA.

Pavifort Al Associates Ltd, a construction company in Sierra Leone, has recently tripled the pace of street construction in the city of Kenema.

According to a senior company engineer, Mr. Philip Odumah, he informed AIM NETWORK NEWS Outlet that the people of Kenema have not been happy with the pace at which the job was going due to some unavailable circumstances. He gladly said that they have decided to triple their work rate because they want to satisfy the people.

"Our work rate in the city has moved in another direction, and additional communities and streets have been added to what was initially drafted. Currently, massive work is ongoing at major streets in Simbeck Section, Nyandeyama Road to connect Blama Road by Foninkoh, and a host of other streets within Kenema City."

"Although there are challenges in these areas due to existing structures, we are trying our best to ensure that we don't slow down on the job any longer. To ensure that, we are calling on the owners of these structures to cooperate with our team by doing what is necessary so that our engineers can carry out their duties," Eng. Odumah pleaded.

Furthermore, Engineer Philip Odumah called on the local authorities and the Sierra Leone Road Authority (SLRA) to engage all the owners of such properties to buy be helpful for the work to be intensified because Kenema City is very dynamic to deal with. References were made during the initial stage in the construction of Dakyia Street, when several states and non-states actors were flexing their muscles about the demolition of some affected structures.

It is believed that an estimated 10 kilometers of road have been completed among the targeted streets, while 17 streets are currently either under construction or waiting to be constructed soon.

The general public is also calling on authorities to include other prominent streets like Short Street, Semabulane, and Main Street in construction so that the city will be unique. The engineers are urging the public to be supportive and provide the necessary resources for a cordial working relationship.
