KONO HOSPITAL SECRETARY CAUTIONS EYE SPECIALIST ON REVENUE MOBILIZATION

The Senior Hospital Secretary at the Koidu Government Hospital (KGH) in Koidu City Kono District, Joseph T. Kamara,  has cautioned the Eye specialist nurse attached to the Eye Care Unit at the Koidu Government Hospital in Kono District on revenue mobilization.

"How will you get tools, stationery, personal and government facilities for secondary Health care from the government and you do not pay revenue to the government? And this came out strongly at the last audit report and if you're not paying revenue you are finding problems for yourself" he said.

The Senior Hospital Secretary of Koidu Government Hospital (KGH) Joseph T. Kamara maintained,  that if the eye Care Unit leadership adheres to the good policy stated for secondary Health care,  they would be l left with no option but to capture the annual activities plan for Eye Care Unit in the next year 2024 budget to fully carry their activities in the district.

He called on the Eye Care Unit leadership to show good leadership in the areas of revenue generation and accountability for the effectiveness and efficiency of service delivery in the district.

" In the Ministry when you are frankly bold enough to speak the truth some people will label you as their enemies, at the end of the day they must give accountability. Presently at KGH am the administrative head but that doesn't mean that I will be accountable to my superiors and if anything goes wrong I should be blamed for that." He said.

 Joseph T. Kamara revealed that the top management is the auxiliary to scout out partners to aid the eye Care Unit. He sighted that if the eye Care Unit at Koidu Government Hospital (KGH) is generating Le 10, 00 from secondary Health care,   they are required to pay revenue to the government simply because they are Collecting monies, considering the medical supplies, Stationeries, personnel, and using Government facilities.

The Eye specialist nurse attached at the Koidu Government Hospital (KGH), Jacob Senesie Bockarie,  assured the management of KGH of his fullest compliance in the area of revenue mobilization and accountability to ensure quality service delivery in the area of Eye Care service.
