As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, the Koidu Limited Mining Company has donated cleaning tools to the Koidu New Sembehun City Council. The donation ceremony was done over the weekend at the Koidu New Sembehun City Council compound.
Speaking on the items donated to Koidu New Sembehun City Council, the Community Development Manager of Koidu limited Mining company, Henry Vegg, disclosed the items donated to Koidu New Sembehun City Council include, 25 pieces of rakes, 30 pieces of wheelbarrows, 25 head pans, 20 pieces of Shovels (Korean),50 pairs of hand gloves, 50 pair of hand gloves, 30 pairs of spade shovels, 50 pieces of cutlasses, and 25 pieces of pickaxes respectively.
"The Koidu Limited Mining company once in a while supports the council to clean up the City. And when there is any outbreak of disease in the district and the country, by extension it negatively affects their Company's operations," he said.
Henry Vegg, the Community Development Manager of Koidu Limited Mining Company furthered that the cleaning tools aided the Koidu New Sembehun City was to ensure that the Koidu Mining Company kept to its promise in fostering their community relation. He added that the generosity of the company was to also have a good working relationship with the people in their operational areas.
" The company over the years has donated Hygiene materials to the Koidu New Sembehun City Council to succeed in managing and controlling waste management. And these will help to always clean the city," he narrated.
The Mayor of Koidu New Sembehun City Council, His worship Komba Matthew Sam, expressed gratitude to Koidu Limited Mining Company for their timely Intervention.
"These items received are not only for Koidu New Sembehun City Council but for the entire people of this municipality that gears to the management of waste," he said.
He described the intervention of Koidu Limited Mining Company as a blessing in disguise. He added that the previous Council meeting captured some of their constraints highlighted which include working tools to carry out cleaning exercises within the municipality.
Mayor Komba Matthew Sam of Koidu New Sembehun City Council assured Koidu Limited Mining Company the council would utilise the items received for their intended purposes.
