KINGS OF KENEMA BOOST GOV’T HOSPITAL WITH 50 BEDS

The Kings of Kenema charity organization, founded in 2020, has donated 50 beds and other essential healthcare materials to the Kenema Government Hospital. The event at the Hospital brought together Tribal heads, traditional leaders, Members of Parliament, medical personnel, and civil society, among others.

Given the event’s purpose, the Medical Superintendent, Dr. Abdul Rahman Tejan Jalloh, said donation is a selfless act of feeling good about giving.  He added that giving back to those in need is a Godly practice to achieve greater satisfaction, which is why the Kings of Kenema have decided to embark on such humanitarian work. He said such showcases the work of humanitarian organizations. Noting that they, as healthcare service providers, always support infrastructural development and use the opportunity to highlight the development plans of hospital management.

"This Donation is timely and thus will add value to the Kenema Government Hospital Management to deliver quality service to the people. We want to assure you all that every item here will be judiciously utilized to achieve its purpose of donation", Dr Jalloh assured.

Hon. Boston Munda of Kenema District (former Constituency 021) applauded Kings of Kenema for extending their operations in the health sector as health is wealth. He noted that beds hold several benefits for patients who require care, and that would enhance comfort to improve independence and relieve oneself.

He said donating beds, among other materials, is one key factor for hospital requirements and called on all to emulate such an example.

The Acting National Chairman of Kings of Kenema, Osman Barrie, said that Kings of Kenema encompasses Kenema's indigenes in different life works. He said the organization aimed to provide financial and other humanitarian assistance in education, sanitation, and shelter, while underscoring its achievements since its establishment, the construction of borehole wells in Burma 3, Dama Road, Dama School Lumbebu, Plane field, Bambawo lane among others.

Meanwhile, the Global Chairman of Kings of Kenema, Saadu Jalloh, highlighted the donated items, including fifty modern hospital beds and IPC materials, adding such to compliment the government's efforts in healthcare service delivery.

 He said empowering communities would foster sustainable development, improve quality of life, and promote social justice. He said when health workers are empowered, they are better equipped to address their needs and drive positive change from within. He concluded by calling on correctly utilizing the donated items for their intended purposes.

Joseph Pedia, a civil society activist, commended the Kings of Kenema for their unflinching assistance and called on them to extend similar gestures to other facilities. He encouraged his audience to take ownership of the donated materials. Handling over ceremony candy statements from other stakeholders formed the ceremony’s climax.
