HON. AMB. PESSIMA IS AN EMBODIMENT OF INSPIRATION AMONG POLITICAL AUTHORITIES IN SIERRA LEONE

Lunsar Radio Newsletter

For donkey years in the annals of Sierra Leone, politicians are hardly seen undertaking sustainable development activities individually in their respective constituencies or areas of responsibility after elections, especially in infrastructure and human capital development. Today, Hon. Amb. Racheal Mariatu Sesay Pessima is one among the few politicians who are working assiduously to change the narrative from just serving in the capacity of law-making, representation, and overview for her district but also effectively and constantly supporting developmental initiatives and programs within Port Loko District, Northwest Region, and the country. For this reason, the tenacious Hon. Member of Parliament is rapidly making the news daily on radio, social, and print media for her outstanding leadership and countless developments.

Despite being a Member of Parliament for Port Loko District in the District block system under the Sierra Leone People's Party (SLPP) flagship, she is widely described as a Goodwill Ambassador whose intervention has helped many people emerge and actualize their little dreams. Her support does not segregate based on age, sex, religion, or political belonging. She is a Philanthropist whose giving spirit cannot be overemphasized, especially in the aspect of Health, Education, Women, & Youth Empowerment.

Without any fear or favor, I want to submit that Hon. Racheal Mariatu Sesay Pessima is currently leading among other members of Parliament for what she contributed to the development of Port Loko District over the years, especially in 2023. She has just concluded the first ever successfully organized Inter-Chiefdom championship worth fifty million old leones (Le 50,000,000.00) in Port Loko District tagged Hon. Racheal Mariatu Sesay Pessima Unity Trophy.  An emblem to showcase that unity is her utmost concern and that the people of Port Loko should see themselves as a united force for development after the elections.

After adequate research, I want to bend on the realistic fact that this is the first time in the history of Sierra Leone Football in the Northwest Region for a female to be given an Ambassadorial status and the second female whose name will be tagged with a first division female competition in the region after Madam Isha Tejan-Cole Johansen former President of the Sierra Leone Football Association.

Her financial and material portfolio investment in humanity and societal development is something great to emulate by government officials and those in the private sector. She prefers to ensure that things work to her people’s advantage. That is why she decided to shoulder the responsibility of helping every facet of her district.

Hon. Amb. Racheal Mariatu Sesay Pessima is a down-to-earth woman with an amazing track record of effective participation in almost every development program in Port Loko District and the country.

Her strides to complement the efforts of the government to deliver basic services is the right way to go and probably must be considered as a learning point, especially for elected officials. While many leaders are waiting for government funds to salvage certain problems, she goes the extra mile to make it happen.

Her quick response to emergencies, especially with relief packages, is beyond imagination. Hon. Amb. Racheal Mariatu Sesay Pessima was ordained Ambassador of Female Football in the Northwest Region for her astute leadership.
