EDSA ASSURES QUICK FIX OF POWER SHORTAGE IN KONO

The Station Head of the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) in Kono District Engineer Moses, has assured the people of Koidu City that they would restore the power supply as soon as possible.

The Station Head of EDSA Kono,  Engineer Moses applauded the Deputy Director  General, the Operations and Maintenance and Field Services Manager Team, and the Logistics Manager of EDSA for their tremendous efforts to ensure the restoration of Electricity in Koidu City.

" After a whole night’s travel from Freetown, we just arrived this morning with the cables and other maintenance materials for the t restore of the electricity in the municipality of Koidu. To all our numerous customers want to say thank you for their patient at these trying times and we want to assure the people of Koidu Township that we are commencing the corrective maintenance work immediately. We are kindly asking all our valued customers to continue to be patient with us as we aim to complete and restore the power supply as soon as possible’’, he said.

Mrs. Dusuba Kallay trader at Bona Street, expressed concern over the shortage of electricity in the municipality. She stressed that over the weeks Electricity shortage had negatively affected their businesses, particularly during the festival season like this. She thanked the government through EDSA for their swift intervention to restore Electricity in the City of Koidu.

It could be recalled in November 2023 there was a heavy fire outbreak on the main cable of EDSA around Sheep Yard and Sunnah Mosque areas in Koidu City, which led to heavy financial implications on the government through EDSA which has graciously affected the people of Koidu City for three weeks consecutively into total darkness. The people of Koidu City applauded the management of EDSA to adhere to the concerns.
