BO RANGERS CEO EXPRESSES INTEREST IN SLFA PRESIDENCY

BY: ABDUL MARTINS FODAY AMARA IN KENEMA

Babadi Kamara, chairman of Bo Rangers, one of the best Sierra Leone Premier League clubs, intends to run for the Sierra Leone Football Association's (SLFA) next presidential position.

Kamara, who has been very successful since he was made the club's chairman, has tremendously upgraded the club, leading to being crowned as the current winner of the SLPL. Badadi is also the chief financier and owner of Bo District's Southern Arena Football Stadium.

"I have successfully invested in the game, which has gained much attention globally. I single-handedly built a football stadium of international standards for this country. If elected to lead the association, I'll continue using my resources and experience to make our darling national team formidable and develop other areas. All I need is the support of the entire country, especially the voters, to bring me on board", Badadi declared.

His declaration of intent has been met with mixed feelings among Sierra Leoneans at home and abroad. While others are happy to have him lead the Association, some remain skeptical. Relating it to a lack of knowledge or experience to face the global challenges in soccer.

However, many believed that because Kamara is passionate about football and its development in the country, being the association's president would be very good and lead to many goodies.

The Sierra Leone Football Association's Election is scheduled for next year (2025), but there are rumors that the current president, Thomas Daddy Brima, may seek a second term.

Therefore, it is believed that for Babadi Kamara to clinch victory next year, he must convince the voters that he is the right man for the position. It will also be mouthwatering to see how his candidacy unfolds soon and the outcome of that decision.
