 Kadijatu Hayles, a prominent journalist based in Lungi, has been honored with the prestigious title of "Best Journalist of the Year" at the All Works of Life Achievement Awards organized by the Student Writer's Network in Kaffubullom Chiefdom, Port Loko District. The award ceremony occurred at the Elite Guest Old Airport in Lungi and recognized Hayles' outstanding contributions to journalism.

Hayles has an impressive career in the media industry, starting as a reporter for Galaxy Radio FM 106.1 in Lungi. She quickly rose through the ranks and took on various roles, including presenter, news reader, and even a radio DJ known by her moniker "Pilot KJ."

 Her versatility and dedication to her craft have made her a prominent figure in the local media landscape.

In her quest for further opportunities, Hayles joined MambaTV. On this online media platform, she worked as a reporter, presenter, and editor of the programs "Voice of the Masses" and "MambaTV Daily News."

 Simultaneously, she contributed to several radio stations in the North, such as Radio Maknneh in Makeni and Radio Gonkolenkeh, among others, showcasing her multitasking abilities and commitment to delivering quality news.

Beyond her journalistic endeavors, Hayles has also taken on leadership roles within the media community. She serves as the District Coordinator of the Kombra Media Network and holds the position of Public Relations Officer for the Kombra Network in Port Loko.

 Furthermore, she is the Secretary General of the Young Women in Governance Network in Port Loko and an active member of Women in the Media Sierra Leone.

Hayles has faced numerous challenges throughout her career, including intimidation, bullying, and limited resources for accomplishing certain tasks. However, her unwavering passion for journalism has led to remarkable success stories and beautiful moments. She has become a role model for many young women and girls who aspire to pursue careers in media, inspiring them with her dedication and achievements.
